Policies & FAQ
Please review our policies and frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
What vaccines are required for my pet to participate at 4 Paws Lodge?
We require proof that the following vaccines are up to date:
- Rabies (either 1 or 3 year vaccine accepted)
- Distemper or Distemper combo shots such as DHPP or DHLPP
- Bordetella (kennel cough) required yearly
- Canine Influenza (must cover both H3N2 and H3N8 strains)
- Leptospirosis (if your dog received the DHLPP distemper combo, Lepto is included in that vaccine)
We also require proof of a negative fecal flotation test. If your dog has a positive fecal test, we then require two negatives before a dog can return to the facility.
Is there an age restriction for my pet to participate in your services?
Yes, for the safety of your pet, we require that puppies be at least 3 months of age to participate in any services. This is the minimum age to be fully vaccinated except for Rabies.
Do you offer in house meal options or am I required to bring my own food from home?
We are happy to accommodate your regular home feeding schedule and invite you to bring in your own food and feeding instructions. We do not offer in house meal options. Personal meals should be in a sealed container. If your pets food needs refrigeration - no problem we have that covered.
Can I bring personal belongings from home like bedding and toys?
As a luxury pet resort, we are dedicated to providing everything your pup will need to feel comfortable and happy. From raised comfortable beds to safety approved toys and treats, 4 Paws Lodge has pulled all the stops to ensure our guests are surrounded by all the comforts of home. If your pet has a bed or blanket that they can't live without they are welcome to bring it.
Will 4 Paws administer medications and supplements to my pet if provided?
All medications can be administered for a small fee of $2.00/day. Medications must be labeled with your pet’s first and last name and in their original container. We are required to follow the instructions on the prescription bottle unless instructed by your vet. We will also want to go over any special health concerns about your pet.
We ask that you do not add medications or supplements to bagged food from home. Medications and supplements will be accepted only in their original labeled containers.
Is a flea and tick treatment required?
Since there is a high number of animals in our facility on a daily basis and it’s our responsibility to keep everyone safe, pets are required to be on a flea and tick treatment. We will check each pet for fleas and if fleas are found we will administer a CapStar.
Can my pet share a room with another pet?
Pets from different families are not permitted to share overnight accommodations. We understand that sleepovers of family and neighboring pets occur in your home, however, dogs comfort level changes in new environments and we want to ensure all of our guests feel comfortable and safe during their cabin time. Rest assured, there will be plenty of fun, interactive opportunities for friends and family to play during supervised day activities.
Can multiple dogs within the same family household share an overnight cabin?
Absolutely! Family members typically enjoy their stay more when they’re around their siblings. In the event of a “disagreement”, we will separate pets for their safety and communicate that with you.
Will my dogs’ collar be left on him/her during the stay?
We remove all collars for your pet’s safety. If your pet is in Day Camp during their stay, we will give your dog a printed collar with his/her name and important information on it for identification.
Can someone else pick up my pet?
You may have someone else pick up your pet as long as we have your written authorization, the name of the person on file, and payment arrangements have been made in advance.
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured during their stay?
4 Paws Lodge has researched, trained and implemented only the best cleaning and safety protocols and equipment to ensure the health and safety of our guests. Even in the best situations, things can occur that are out of our control. To ensure your pet receives the best medical care without burdening your pocketbook with unexpected costs, we have worked with the best resort consultants to create the 4 Paws Pet Healthcare Warranty Program. The 4 Paws Pet Healthcare Warranty Program covers any unforeseen injury or illness that would occur during your pets stay and would cover up to $300 in medical expenses for only $9.00 a boarding stay. We want you to travel with the peace of mind!
Do I have to make an appointment for a tour?
Tours are available during business hours and we prefer that you make an appointment in advance.
